Give It To Us: The People Are Begging For Carnage At The US Open And More Shots Like Rory Completely Whiffing On A Chip

This is the biggest debate right now that I've seen on Twitter in regards to the US Open. We saw two guys in Rickie and Xander shoot a US Open low 62 yesterday. Nothing against them, but that's not the US Open. The US Open has two traditions: 1) carnage and 2) dads everywhere using it as an excuse to sit around on Father's Day. I said it in a blog yesterday but the US Open should see guys working their ass off for a par. A couple shots under par wins the thing.

We didn't get that yesterday. We saw two 62s, two 64s and 38 guys currently under par. That's not the US Open I know. I want carnage because it's something different in golf. We get used to seeing the typical four round event where guys just destroy the course and win shooting like 18 under. I need to see Rory completely whiff on a chip:

That hits home. The only thing that would really sell it is if he just bladed the shit out of it a second time. I want to feel better about my game because guys are excited to walk away with a bogey on a brutal hole. I know LACC is something we didn't know what to expect, but you can't have this. Hopefully we get carnage today with these pins:

Now the leaderboard itself? Awesome. We have Rickie, Xander, DJ, Rory, Scottie and Bryson all in the top-7. Give me the big names battling it out because that's what we want. Sure the underdog story is fun, but nothing beats the biggest names in the game going at it. But we need carnage. We need the USGA to make this as tough as it can be after the 62s yesterday.
