Soccer Players Need To Watch More Hockey Fights To Learn How To Properly Jersey An Opponent During A Fight

Things got a little heated during last night's USMNT vs Mexico match. I'd go ahead and categorize this more as a brouhaha than a donnybrook. But considering the fact that it's soccer we're talking about here, this is as close to a line brawl as you'll actually get.

No punches thrown, just a lot of guys getting in each other's faces for just long enough before a teammate comes over to "hold them back". Beggars can't be choosers, however, so I'll take any sort of greasy action in a soccer match as opposed to constant flopping.

But if USA and Mexico are going to tussle every time they play each other from now on, well then we need these guys to start watching a few more hockey fights to get themselves prepared. Because if you're going to pull your opponent's jersey off during a tilt, you damn well better do it right.

Stick. Gloves. Shirt.

It's as simple as that. You need to pull the shirt over the head, and then that way you can just force feed that sorry sack of shit a dozen punches. If you just rip their jersey off their body like this bozo from Mexico did, then you're only freeing up your opponent. Plus, Weston McKennie ended up looking like a bad ass walking off the field with his jersey torn to shreds. If you pull the jersey over the head, it's borderline impossible to not look like a full afterwards.

See what I mean? Just a tough look all around.
