I Love Him... But Pete Alonso Made A Really Big Mistake Last Night Chirping The Braves
Look... Alonso is the face of this franchise. He's a leader, he's home grown, he's poised, and he's an excellent baseball player. It's the kind of guy you need to be the head honcho in the clubhouse, as well as the one the marketing team and merch teams need to sell tickets and jerseys. He's had a great year thus far in terms of power. 22 homers, 49 RBI's . His average can use a boost (.231) but if The Mets didn't have his power thus far, we'd be in even worse shape than we are right now in terms of standings. He's been excited this year, trying to put the team on his back at times etc. I like fiery leaders, but last night was a tad too much.
Alonso hit a monster Home Run to take a 4-1 lead in the 3rd inning. And what does he do? Starts chirping the Braves and Bryce Elder.

Dude … what are you doing. We haven't won shit against this team ! Have you not learned anything from last year ? We won 101 games, declared the division done in June and were made to look like assholes when we flamed out in the division and the playoffs. And if you crack a history book, maybe Pete would realize the Braves have OWNED this division for DECADES. DECADES !!!
Did we really need another reason to piss this super team off again … in the 3rd inning of all times. Are you kidding me ? What is he thinking ? And of course the Braves dunked on him moments later…rightfully so.
I didn't have much hope for this season as a Mets fan, but they have wavered a little bit up and down and reeled me back in with hope of them actually making a run and then they go and do shit like this. Absolutely insane. Just shut up and compete hard, and then when you FINALLY win a division you can say something, until then shut up. It was a moronic strategic decision to get them pissed off, and one that will haunt us again this year. I can't believe after last year's debacle they would go do something like this again.
If I had a salt shaker I would smash it.
