Brady Confirms Belichick Texted Him Right After He Won the Super Bowl in Tampa, and All the Talk About Their Toxic Relationship is a Big, Fat, Stupid Lie

It's said that truth is the first casualty of war. Which may comes as news to the people who were killed at Lexington and Concord, Fort Sumpter, Archduke Ferdinand, and the poor guys defending Gdansk in 1939. But let's agree to disagree and say truth is right up there in the first few days of fighting.

Which brings me to one of the fiercest and longest running conflicts of modern times. The Pliability War. That brutal, savage campaign that cost the people of New England incalculable losses of blood and treasure. And possibly a championship. And definitely the greatest athlete in the history of the region.

History will note that the hostilities began with a dispute over whether or not Tom Brady's massage therapist/business partner/life coach Alex Guerrero was overstepping his boundaries, giving treatment to some of his teammates, oftentimes in direct contradiction to the team's medical staff. Bill Belichick said that stuff had to stop. He rescinded Guerrero's team plane travel privileges. Brady resented it. These two strong willed, hard skulled Alphas butted heads over it. They stopped talking to one another. A lot of other bad blood boiled to the surface, most of it brought on by the fact Belichick drafted Brady's replacement in Jimmy Garoppolo. Brady went up the proverbial back stairs to the Kraft family and got Jimmy G traded. That is, when he wasn't demanding everyone in the organization call him "Sir" and being super duper salty about the fact he he was never named Patriot of the Week. And all that is the reason he jumped ship the first chance he contractually had.

At least, that's the narrative that's been told constantly since some time around 2016.

But Truth didn't survive the first day of battle. It was KIA from almost the opening salvo. I volunteered for the sad task of writing a letter home to Truth's mother to break the news to her. And to all of you. Where I explained things like how they had no choice but to trade Garoppolo when they did and how there never was a Patriot of the Week award. But still, this brave fighting man couldn't recover from the wounds inflicted by the enemy of all that is good, Lies.

Those lies have survived to this day. Despite Belichick and Brady having a 45 minute meeting after the Bucs came to Gillette in 2021. Or Belichick going on Brady's post-retirement podcast, where the two gushed about each other like a young couple in love:

But maybe, just maybe, the people who seek to profit from keeping the Pliability War going - the Patriots Hatred Industrial Complex - will listen to Brady now:

ESPN - The Patriots plan to honor Brady during their home opener on Sept. 10. Brady told ESPN that it was "such a kind gesture" by Patriots owner Robert Kraft and he has "always felt" like he has been a member of the Patriots organization.

Brady also discussed his relationship with coach Bill Belichick, telling ESPN he "was very fortunate" to be able to play for him.

"He very much trusted what I was out there doing in the field, and it went both ways. Ultimately our success was because so many people in the organization, as coach Belichick always said, 'do your job,' and I did as quarterback and leader," he said, adding he "learned so much from him."

Brady told ESPN he has a great relationship with Belichick, adding that his former coach "was one of the first people to text me after we won the Super Bowl in Tampa."

Brady said he and Belichick "have a lot of mutual respect.

"Were there times where you know it wasn't always eye to eye? Very few and far between, actually. I still envision our relationship as positive and always will," he said.

Boy oh boy. You can just feel the animosity coming off the screen, can't you? Clearly Brady is still not over the abuse he took, living under the oppression of this evil overlord …

and can't stand the thought of the man. And like a lot of victims in such relationships, he actually sounds like he sympathizes with his captive. He's suffering from Foxboro Syndrome. It's profoundly sad. And he obviously needs professional help.

Oh wait. This isn't the first time he's talked this way. As a matter of fact, he took time out of his own documentary series to give all the credit in the world to Belichick for making him the player he became and speak glowingly of the time they got to spend together:

But as one side of another famous war learned, if you make the Big Lie ridiculous enough and tell it long enough, eventually the people will buy it. But that side lost that war. And this one is now finally over. The winners are Brady, Belichick, and the ones who stood by them through it all.
