UConn Leaving The Big East For The Big 12 Just To Play Shitty Football Would Be So Stupid And Why Conference Realignment Sucks

Oh come on. We finally get UConn back in the Big East and finally get UConn good again ... for this? For them to get their dicks kicked in during football? This is where I hate conference realignment. Some of it has been fine. Some of it we just get used to. But UConn going to the Big 12 would be so goddamn stupid. I say this strictly from a fan standpoint and not a money maker, which is the driving force behind everything here.

I miss the old Big East and old ACC the most. I'm talking the 9-team ACC. I'm talking the Big East before South Florida and those teams came in. The Big East has actually been awesome because the teams they brought in after it all broke up have fit. Xavier, Butler and Creighton have all had spells of being good. Combine that with Nova being a 2-time champ and now UConn and you have what was the 2nd best conference in college basketball last year.

UConn needs to play their rivals. You know who isn't a rival? Iowa State. It just doesn't sound right. UConn playing Georgetown, St. John's, Providence, Nova, Seton Hall, that sounds right. That's the way it should be. I know football is where money is made, but come on, you're telling me the Big East can't get a good enough contract with FS1 or someone else going forward to keep that as an awesome college basketball conference? That sport matters too! I promise.

UConn fans call MSG Storrs South for a rightful and valid reason. You gonna give that up to go play in like Kansas City in March? Come on. It's dumb as shit and why conference realignment needs to stop. Colorado back in the Big 12? Fine. Go ahead. That at least makes sense. Just keep UConn in the Big East and if the ACC breaks up bring back the old Big East guys. Have a dominant, awesome college basketball conference. It'll be fine.
