The Trailer For 'Dune: Part Two' Is Here And It Whips Ass

A boy becomes the Messiah of nomads on a desert planet that has giant worms that protect a commodity called Spice. Spice changes people into travelers, mystics and madmen. What price will he pay to become the new ruler of their universe?

They gave us exactly what we wanted and what was teased at the end of the last movie, Paul Atreides ridin' that god damn butthole worm babay! The only thing missing from this trailer is the Emperor aka Christopher Walken. The fuck, Denis?!

What excites me a lot about this movie is some of these new cast members. Florence Pugh is obviously at the top of her game right now and this is a franchise that, unlike her current MCU role, will really let her show off some range. Tim Blake Nelson is also one of my favorite character actors and, again, who doesn't love Christopher Walken? Infusing that into this already very talented cast gonna be fun to watch. Oh, and Austin Butler is in it too I guess.

Part 1 got a lot of praise and rightfully so. The book is incredibly dense and Denis managed to make the lore digestible while also giving us some of the best SFX cinematography in sci fi history. The cast was great and the action ruled, audiences seemed to click with it and it got a great reception. The biggest complaint I had with this movie, which dropped it down to an 83 for me, is that it didn't feel like it's own story. Obviously this was always meant to be the first movie in a multi-part story but look at some other successful franchise intros. 'A New Hope', 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', 'Alien', etc etc etc. They are all the beginning of a story, but those movies stand incredibly well on their own. I never got that with Dune. Now, that said, I think part 2 will not only be awesome but will make part 1 more enjoyable as well. Denis has said as much in some recent interviews too. The way the book is, you can tell Denis would probably rather do one 5 hour long movie than split it all up, but that would never fly.

Also, a big plus is that Zendaya will actually be in this one. Hey, WB marketing, don't tease a popular actress will be in your movie if she will only show up in a handful of dream sequences and only get 2 lines.

This comes out Nov 3rd of this year.
