The Seattle Mariners Have Unveiled Their City Connect Uniforms And They're Actually Pretty Awesome

No one loves a new uniform unveiling more than me so I was fired up to see the leaks of the Mariners City Connect jerseys. Most of the ones Nike has put together have been pretty good, but with those there are of course a few stinkers. I'm glad to say that these are fantastic looking.

First off they did a great video unveiling them. Really cool stuff with some neat information on how they came up with the jerseys.

The blue that they used is awesome, such a clean shade of blue. It goes so well with the yellow letters on the jersey as well as the trim on the sleeves and collar. The whole thing just meshes so well together. The hats are sweet too. Just a simple, classic logo, nothing flashy or anything like that.

The trident logo is so under used by this squad, especially now that they have an actual trident in the dugout. You see that "PNW" patch on the sleeve and in the background, boy do these guys want you to know they play in the pacific northwest. It's a cool looking logo though so I don't have any issues with it.

The "MY OH MY" on the jersey is a nice tribute to the famous call from their hall of fame broadcaster Dave Niehaus. In the tweet above you can see a few different tribute to the Pilots which is always a great thing to do.

I have to say it, I'm not a fan of the black pants. I get why they did it, it's a cool tribute to the Seattle Steelheads who were a Negro League team in the 1940s, but I don't think it looks good. Go with white pants, go with the rush blue pants, but the black doesn't seem to fit. I know they have it in the striping already but I don't think it looks good. I'm sure once I see it on the field I will change my mind, but this is the one thing about these unis I don't like.

Overall I still think they are awesome, they knocked these out of the park.

These ones are MUCH better than whatever the Rangers showed us last week. It also gives me hope that the Orioles ones they unveil next month will be awesome too. I'm in the camp of "look good, play good" and I think these look good. So count on the Mariners to get a boost from these. How good are they? Even Frank had something positive to say about them!
