Fairy Porn Is On The Precipice Of Taking Over The World With The "A Court Of Thorns And Roses" Series

At long last, those of us who have been looking to scratch the itch that Twilight, True Blood, Fifty Shades of Grey and The Hunger Games left us...may I present to you, A Court of Thorns And Roses.

These books are not necessarily new, the first one having come out in 2015, and the most recent addition in 2021. I'm not sure where the recent MAJOR hype started, but there have been rumors that they're trying to turn it in to movies or a series, so that must've stirred the minds of those who love mystical shit. I had a handful of my Potter freaks come out of the woodwork to suggest this book series to me, and I was hesitant at first. I'm a weirdo for sure, but fairies? Sometimes fairy books are a little lame. The whole "fantasy" genre of books is often hit or miss for me. What I didn't expect...was what this book ended up being. A MAJOR FUCKING HIT. Struggles with power, sex, control, war, invasion, love, lust - I was blown away. So much so, that I'm already on the third book in 2 weeks.

Let me break down the first book's plot for you, but keep in mind - it must be read to give it justice.

In the world of this series, Humans and Fairies are separate. There's prejudice involved, some fairies hate humans and hunt/eat them, some humans hate fairies and kill them too. There was a war between the two camps 500 years before this story takes place, and after that war ended, a huge wall was put up between the two realms. This human girl and our protagonist, named Feyre, gets into some hijinks accidentally and ends up in Prythian, the "fairy world," as not exactly a prisoner but also not a totally welcome guest. BOY OH BOY do things go crazy from here. She finds herself in The Spring Court, with a hot High Lord named Tamlin (this part is very 50 shades, poor little human girl needs guidance and help in this new crazy world of riches and prosperity.) All hell breaks loose shortly after and the whole squad starts getting CRUSHED by the bad guys for a while (shocker, I'm way more into the vibes of the "bad guys.") I don't want to spoil any more than that, but just know that there's arena fighting, an unbelievable amount of violence, true love questioning, raucous sex and about 400 twists and turns.

Now that I'm fully in this universe, I've joined the online discourse. The main thing people LOVE to do is make fan art based on what they think these characters and places would look like. I personally have my own visions and none of them look as "cartoon" as these depictions do, but then again, they are fairies.

We all creamed our jeans over the fairy versions of ourselves when that AI shit was popular, what makes this any different? I say run, not walk through this series. And if you already have, we're breaking it down every week as I'm making my way through them On The Other Line. Check it out :)

PS - I'm 100% a Night Court girlie.
