A Star-Studded New Season Of "Black Mirror" Is On The Way And I Have Very High Hopes

I don't know what to tell ya, if they make a new season of "Black Mirror", I'll be watching. It's simple as that. When "Black Mirror" is at its best, it is some of the best, most compelling storytelling out there. I still think the Jon Hamm "White Christmas" episode is the best, "Fifteen Million Merits" I think is my favorite and most watched of them all.

Maybe one day I'll rank all the episodes, there's so many good ones. If you haven't done a re-watch, I recommend it. Sure there's a few misses in the bunch, but for the most part it's just an awesome show. Hang The DJ and San Junipero are classics, I really enjoyed USS Callister, and I think Black Museum is an underrated episode. What's cool about Black Mirror is every list you look at ranking episodes is wildly different. I just looked at a few and one had "Fifteen Million Merits" 13th, and another hand it 2nd. (13th is an outrage, btw, that list stunk.)

Now, the elephant in the room- the most recent season was bad. There were 3 episodes and none of the 3 were any good. It was very unfortunate, but what can ya do. Shit happens. So that will not stop me from having high hopes about the upcoming season. You can't bat 1000. The new trailer looks dope and there is a pretty sweet cast list:

Variety - “Black Mirror” is coming back — and much sooner than you think.

Netflix has revealed that Charlie Brooker’s hit series returns in June for Season 6.

Once again, the show boasts a laundry list of top acting talent. This season’s roster includes: Aaron Paul, Anjana Vasan, Annie Murphy, Auden Thornton, Ben Barnes, Clara Rugaard, Daniel Portman, Danny Ramirez, Himesh Patel, John Hannah, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, Monica Dolan, Myha’la Herrold, Paapa Essiedu, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Salma Hayek Pinault, Samuel Blenkin, Zazie Beetz.

My dark horse to steal the show is Michael Cera. Gimme angry, dark Cera, let's fucking go. Rory Culkin too, obviously, but that isn't exactly a dark horse pick, he just rules. And a name I feel I haven't seen in a long time, Josh Hartnett. Plus…Salma Hayek, mama mia! Looking forward to seeing what the lovely Miss Hayek has in store for us.

PS: When I saw Aaron Paul I got a cool idea- what if they took popular shows like Breaking Bad and then Black Mirror-ized them. Like took Breaking Bad into the Black Mirror fucked up universe. Do it with Mad Men, do it with The Wire, shit let's get nuts, put freakin' Gilmore Girls in the Black Mirror universe. Let's get nuts, dude. Would be cool. Someone get Netlix on the line, I want royalties because this idea is awesome.
