"Money Is Nice, Championships Are Better" -- Jalen Hurts, Who Is Now A Very Rich Man But Also The Greatest Wordsmith In The NFL

There's always a slight concern when it comes to paying athletes an outrageous amount of money. That concern being that there's no longer anything motivating that athlete to perform at the highest level. They already made their millions, and they don't have anything left to prove. Now some athletes aren't solely driven by the money. But others clearly are. Like when Ben Simmons signed his 5-year, $177 million contract with the Sixers and no longer felt like he needed to improve anything with his game.

Jalen Hurts obviously cares about money. He's human, and he's living in America. It's only natural. The $255 million hitting his bank account over the next 5 years clearly tells you that it's important to him. So I don't want this to come off like I'm saying he could care less about the money. But is it the only thing that drives Jalen Hurts? Is it even the main thing that drives Jalen Hurts?

Not a goddamn chance.

Because "money is nice, championships are better". Easy to say after you've already signed one of the richest contracts in NFL history. But Jalen Hurts never says anything just for the sake of saying it. He always means that shit. Some times he's even literally talking about shit.

The man has a way with words that is unrivaled in the NFL. I'd be shocked if he's ever had a conversation in which he didn't bust out a quote that could end up edited onto a graphic like this.

And when Jalen Hurts talks, everybody listens. That's my quarterback. You think that a little bit of extra money is going to change Jalen Hurts? You think he's going to stop relentlessly working towards being the best quarterback and leader in the game to make sure he can carry this Eagles team to multiple championships? Think again, cowboy. Because nothing change but the weather.

Go Birds.
