I Would Never Abandon My Fans The Way Morgan Wallen Did At His Show Over The Weekend

He’s giving a new meaning to “Wasted on You.”
Morgan Wallen misspent approximately 60,000 of his fans’ time Sunday by canceling his concert in Oxford, Miss., minutes before he was due onstage.
The country singer’s team made the announcement with an onscreen message at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium — after opening acts Hardy, Ernest and Bailey Zimmerman had already performed.
I'm sure Morgan Wallen is a nice guy who means well. He is always a topic of debate in the NY office about his level of fame. And while he is obviously less famous than Aaron Rodgers, he's still a mega-star. Which is why it's very disappointing he abandoned his fans over the weekend because he "lost his voice". I, WSD, would never abandon my fans. I would have a smut blog up on a Friday if both of my hands were chopped off on Thursday. You gotta give the people what they're paying to see. If I was on my death bed and Emily Elizabeth dropped a new IG Reel, you better believe it'll be on this here website before I take my one last gasping breath.
And I gotta say, this is straight out of the Jerry Reinsdorf playbook. Let tens of thousands of people inside to consume assloads of food and booze before pulling the rug from under them 2 mins before the game (concert) is about to begin, knowing FULLY that you're not intending to take the field (stage). If I've seen it once, I've seen it a million times.
It's just an all-time dickhead move. I gotta know- did he really lose his voice? Or was there foul play involved? Hey, as a rockstar myself, I know what goes on. Sometimes the brown liquor starts flowing and you don't know which way is up, nevermind the words to all your songs.
And if it really was his voice, why wouldn't he come out to the crowd and say sorry instead of posting that video board message? Say you did everything you could to take the stage, but it wasn't possible. Or even send a message during the day saying you might not be able to make it, so don't drive/fly in for the show. Voices don't disappear in 2 seconds, you kinda know if you have it or if you don't. You can't let 60,000 people waste their time and money before pulling the plug, that just ain't right.
The cancellation isn't even the worst part. The worst part is that patronizing message they put up:
Please make your way safely to the stadium exits? Are you fucking kidding me? If I were in the crowd, that douchey directive would have made my goddamn blood boil. People are there to get drunk, listen to your corny ass music and watch girls in cowboy hats, boots and sundresses from a distance. You robbed them of that.
We'll talk about it this week on Barstool Backstage
