Reds Pitcher Levi Stoudt Got Brutally Murdered By The Rays In The First Inning Of His MLB Debut

Y'all pour one out for Levi Stoudt, a 25-year-old pitcher in the Reds organization who made his MLB debut today to the tune of six runs on seven hits against the Tampa Bay Rays — in the first inning. And not only did Stoudt head back into the Cincinnati dugout with a career ERA of 54.00 after the first, every ball the Rays put in play was getting absolutely crushed.

There had only been 20 balls hit with exit velocities of at least 114 MPH coming into today and Stoudt gave up two of those within the first three hitters he faced. He balked in a run for good measure, too. Having to make your first career start against the best offense in Major League Baseball is certainly a tough spot to be in, but even by those standards, Stoudt had a rough day.

Hopefully Stoudt goes on to have a great career and he can laugh about this one day. Definitely not today, but one day.
