Huge Train Barrels Into Another Train While Conductor Texts Her Pals About the Latest Episode of Succession
First of all, this story happened in 2019 according to the date at the top of the screen. Other than that, I cant find a ton of information about this incident. You would have thought this was something we would blog about but alas, we dropped the ball. The succession part in the title is an assumption which Im entitled to do as the author. Thank you for understanding.
Anyway, we've all been in the driver's seat and decided to take a quick glance at our cell phones. Hell, some people, like my good friend Big Cat, used to drive RVs while doing some light texting but he's different and has gone to several safety training about how to drive safely when you're operating an RV. If you haven't taken the class, you shouldn't do it. It's that simple.
However, train texting is only a big deal when something like this happens but how does something like this happen? You're telling me there's no train version of air traffic controllers? There's no radioing behind you and saying "Hey train that is barrelling towards me at 60mph, we got another train that's sitting still on the tracks. Might wanna slow er down a touch?"
Cause what was she supposed to do? Even if she wasn't on her phone, how could she have stopped? That would be my approach if I was her attorney, which she will certainly need or needed. Again, I don't know shit about this story but I assume she was texting about Succession. People fucking love that show and you can't stop texting just because you're on the way to Seacaus terminal. Nope. Those takes need to fly just like the contents of a train during a crash.
By the way, who would have thought that the train would have airbags? That was pretty neat but how did she not go flying about all over the place when the collision happened? She wasn't wearing a seat belt and it looked like she was experiencing some mild turbulence and not a fucking train wreck. She managed to walk away with nary a scratch which seems impossible, right? Seems odd to me to say the least.
Additionally, what I thought was an airbag looks to just be a casually placed coat. There are no airbags on trains but there should be just in case a conductor isn't paying attention because they were on their phone which leads to a train crashing into the back of another train. It seems far-fetched but crazier things have happened.
