Let's Not Forget That Draymond Green Basically Did The Exact Same Leg Grab As Domantas Sabonis During Last Year's Playoffs

By now I imagine everyone has seen the dust up between Draymond and Domantas Sabonis from last night

Sabonis was wrong to grab Draymond's leg like that, for which he was given a tech, and naturally as Draymond does, he took things about a million miles too far. His excuse after the game was pretty weak

and as expected guys like Klay were quick to defend their teammate, focusing on that leg pull as well

and then even after his presser, Draymond decided to do what all NBA players do in 2023 which is going to IG and crying a little more while taking zero accountability for his own actions

Listen, I think we should put some stock into Draymond's analysis of this play and what classifies as a solid basketball play or not. Why? Because if anyone knows how to evaluate a play like this, it's Draymond.

What makes me say that? Because he basically did the exact same thing just last year in their series against the Nuggets

I mean if this isn't the most predictable thing of all time, I'm not sure what is. Did Klay Thompson spend his presser after that game talking about what a dirty play this was by Draymond? Of course not. Did Steve Kerr go on last night about how classes Draymond was for how he acted towards Kings fans? Of course he didn't.

So if Draymond wants to suggest that what Sabonis did is dirty, is he willing to admit that what he himself does is dirty? I think we all know the answer to that. This is what he and the Warriors do. They somehow always find themselves in these "accidents" that never seem to be their fault, Draymond talks shit and then they all hope Steph Curry can just carry everyone and back up their shit talking. In previous seasons, that formula has worked. Now down 0-2 for the first time in this Steph Curry era, we'll see if history repeats itself.

I just find it very funny that you didn't even have to look all that far back to see Draymond doing the exact shit that he's upset at Sabonis for doing. I'm sure that dust up with Gordon was just an accident too right? This is why Draymond does not get the benefit of the doubt in situations like this. He is a habitual line stepper

We now wait to see what the league says about this play, and it's hard to predict which way they go. We've seen times where they've suspended Draymond for reckless plays in a playoff series, but we've also seen numerous times where they've looked the other way and didn't do shit. Some might argue they enable this behavior because Draymond feels like he's bulletproof. Shit, he's openly admitted it!

Suspending him for Game 3 would be pretty massive given that the Warriors are currently on the ropes, because even if you think he stinks as a player, he's absolutely a crucial piece to the Warriors puzzle, especially defensively. Considering the Kings haven't even shot the ball well yet, you know that offensive explosion is coming, and it would be a whole lot easier if Draymond wasn't on the floor.

Let's see if Adam Silver has the balls to control his league and his product.
