The postseason starts with one clear favorite: The Boston Bruins. The Presidents' Trophy Winners went 65-12-5, recording 135 points, and secured the most regular season wins in NHL history. So, with all of that in mind, it has to be Stanley Cup or bust for the Bruins, right? The answer is yes, according to Whitney. Here is what he had to say regarding his hometown team…
At another point in the podcast, Big Cat pointed out that there has not been much postseason luck for the Presidents' Trophy winner. The last team to hoist the Stanley Cup that also had the best regular season record? The Chicago Blackhawks in 2013. That's bad news for the Boston Bruins. HOWEVER… no team in the history of the NHL has done what this team has done. This team has shown time and time again that they are built different, but if that doesn't translate to the postseason, it's all for nothing.
