"Watch Your Mouth Motherfucker" - Russell Westbrook Went Into A Suns Fan Lounge And Confronted a Heckler At Half Time Of Sunday Night's Playoff Game
There's so much going on here, I don't know where to begin. When I clicked play on this video the last thing I expected to see was Russell Westbrook confronting a fan in that setting.
????
I'm in tears. Chirping a player is all fun and games until they show up in your fancy fan lounge while your kid is trying to inhale a piece of ham with no regard for human life.
Someone get the kid a knife for the love of god. Did he just get so nervous with what his dad was doing that he forgot how to eat food and was just nervously gnawing? My brain would probably break too if I saw Russ just walk into that area out of nowhere. I was almost more entranced by the eating than Russ showing up in person to call this dude out.
This plays like a clip straight out of a WWE backstage moment. I guess the Suns have their premium VIP lounges for fans who buy expensive seats right next to the tunnel the players walk through. I thought initially Russ went up into a suite and was completely taken aback. Nope, Phoenix has this shit right next to the players walk out area. What could possibly go wrong there? Brilliant design. Security seems to be be in tip top shape for the playoffs I see. This tweet below gives us a better idea of what the setup is like. Insane they allow fans this close.
So do we think a simple "Westbrick" provoked this? I could easily see it, as Russ was in the middle of a 3-19 performance (he did make some incredible winning hustle plays later on to be fair). During his time with the Lakers he made it pretty clear he is done being called that nickname.
Also how about the balls on the fan to say "take it like a man" or "talk about it, be about it" to an angry 6'3" physical specimen standing in front of you who you provoked in the first place. There's having a few adult beverages at a playoff game you take your son to and then there's getting so hammered you blackout and wake up the next day only to find out you went viral for trying to fight a player on the other team. I guess if he does fight you, that's the quickest lawsuit payday ever, assuming you live of course. Wait, why did he say "take it like a man?" What a weird fucking thing to say in the moment. If anything that's what Russ says as he's beating you to a bloody pulp.
This clip appears to have have taken place at half time based on tweets I've been reading. Gonna guess Ty Lue doesn't know what Russ was up to.
Probably doesn't want his guy doing that moving forward even though Russ came out in the 2nd half and played his ass off to help get the W. Probably the second most impactful Clipper Sunday night besides Kawhi. Was this fan to blame? Will Russ get disciplined for this from the league? All I know is that I'm gonna watch that clip about 50-100 more times and find probably 5-10 new wrinkles. I'm enjoying the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
