A New Owner Also Means We Will Finally, Finally, FINALLY Get A New Stadium Which Means So Many Cool, Awesome Events Will Be Able To Happen In DC
I cannot remember the origin of the above picture. I think it was like, 2016 or something when Dan Snyder and his cronies were trying to con the state of Virginia into building them a new stadium and someone designed a stadium with a beach and a moat with a wave pool for surfing, while climbers scaled the outside wall. All in all it's the best stadium rendering of all time.
But because everyone hates Dan Snyder, he could never get approval for a new stadium in Maryland, Virginia, or DC. They all told him to go fuck himself. So the team was stuck at the worst place in the world, FedEx Field. Where human shit rains down on the fans and the players tear their ACL like it's going out of style. FedEx Field is truly where dreams go to die.
But now that he is selling, a new stadium deal is imminent. There's going to be a bidding war between the states and DC now, which is a complete 180 from all 3 being like "yeah we aren't giving you a dime dude".
I'm rooting for the new stadium to be in DC. They could knock down RFK and put up a brand new, state of the art stadium downtown. And then think about what that means- Final Fours, Super Bowls, Taylor Swift concerts- the big 3! But seriously think about it- the World Cup is going to be in America and they don't have a DC stop! A domed stadium in a top 10 market like DC opens up all opportunities.
If they put the stadium in the burbs of Maryland or Virginia it would stink. Suburb stadiums suck. Put it at RFK, build the area around it, and make DC great again!!!
PS: And no, there is NO WAY Josh Harris can possibly be worse than Snyder. Don't even put that thought into existence. It's simply impossible.
