Tik Tok Bartender Gives Groundbreaking Advice On How To Get Served At The Bar … TIP HIM

Ny Post - No tip no service.

A Michigan-based bartender has sparked a furious debate for a TikTok revealing he refuses to serve customers who don’t tip.

The mixologist — who only goes by Roman on the app — frequently shares bartending tips and stories with his more than 12,000 followers.

In a recent clip — which has been viewed more than 400,000 times — he addressed tipping etiquette and how he deals with it.

“When you don’t tip, we tell the other bartenders who’s not tipping so we don’t go to you,” he shared, before listing the percentage breakdown and what kind of service it will get you.

“I’m not saying that you have to tip a lot, but you tip at least 10%, we’ll come to you,” he explained in the 21-second clip.

“You tip 20% or more, we’re going to make sure we get to you,” the bartender continued.

“If you tip more than 50%, I will RKO [knock out] whoever the f–k is in front of you and make sure you get served,” he joked. “How’s that sound?”

No shit! What a groundbreaking revelation of information. Look I don’t mean to knock this guy, and I actually think way less people have good bar etiquette than you think. It wouldn’t surprise me if people are shocked by the fact that bartenders work off tips, or that how quickly you get served is a direct relation to how you act. Go into a crowded bar for 3 minutes, watch a bartender work the area, then watch some of the people trying to order. Watch who yells, watch who grabs, and watch who orders a drink, then when it’s time to pay adds two more drinks. Then watch the bartender bite their tongue even though that move drives them crazy. Then ten minutes later watch those same people struggle to get a refill.

I learned from a family who owns bars and being in them at a younger than 21 age, the whole thing is a game. You play the game right, ie- make the bartender's night easier, the game goes in your favor. Maybe you get a buyback, maybe you get charged for 4 drinks instead of 5. You act like a moron … you are standing 6 deep waving your hand praying they acknowledge you without ever getting served before you head out to another bar where you will do the same shit with the same results and think it’s a coincidence.

Roman’s tip is not groundbreaking it’s just facts. I figured I would go to one of the best bartenders I knew, the great West Bar OG Kenny Hammer and dug up an old post of his in regards to how to act in the bars.

Here it is:

ANNOUNCEMENT: HOW TO ORDER A DRINK TOP 10- 2012 edition . Funny but serious

1)  Money out, mouth shut. Don't order a drink then dig in your pocket or purse like you didn't know you owed money, it’s extremely rude.

2)  If you don't tip, don't come back.....trust me you will be ignored.

3)  Don't play with your iPhone, iPad, or yourself while ordering a drink and expect me to wait til you’re done.  IT WONT HAPPEN!  Same deal as rule #2

4)  Don't ask me to hook it up........you are guaranteed to have the weakest drink ever made!!

5)  This should be #1- when waiting to order a drink- don't ever EVER touch the bartender under any circumstance.  Trust me, i don't need to elaborate the effects of this bad decision.

6)  My name is NOT "Hey" or "Yo" or "Boss" or "Captain" or "Buddy" or "Pal" , and whistling and banging your glass won't get you anywhere! If you ever do get your drink you can be sure you will be the last person at the bar to get one.

7)  Do not say "when you get a chance".  When i do, i will get to you.  Just because i look at you, doesn't mean im ready for your order.

8)  There is no such drink called a "Ketel One and Vodka", if you do order it , you will be treated like the drunk idiot you are.

9)  Don't complain about the prices when you order Ciroc, Patron, JWB, etc....if you want to be a big shot and order expensive liquor, your gonna pay for it!

10)  YES, there is alcohol in it!  And if you can't taste it, your too drunk and i should cut you off!!  So don't ask!

Wise words from Hammer … #WEST
