Big Cat, Rone, Frank the Tank, Nick, & KB All Look To End Trivia Losing Skids || (The Dozen: Week 26 Preview & Rankings)

It’s The Dozen Week 26, and the tournament is only six weeks away. The pressure is on for teams trying to qualify and cement their rankings. Week 26 is grudge week, as we have three rematches between teams with contentious histories. The Yak and Smockin continue their ongoing rivalry dating back to the Season 1 tournament, Gen XYZ is looking to pull off another upset of the Frankettes, and Macrodosing wants some respect in the rankings as they hope to beat The Booze Ponies for a second time. Our correspondent Scoops L'Aguirre has the breakdown…

WEEK 24 RANKINGS

  • The Honkers took over #1 after their big win over The Experts. Robbie Fox deserves GM of the year, as he took the Honkers from a fringe tournament team to the top of the league.

  • The Experts and Ziti slink down one spot after their losses. UrMom moves up to #8 after beating Ziti and is in striking distance of a Crown challenge.

  • The Baddies and Yak flip spots after the Baddies' victory in their match.

Now onto the Week 24 preview…

7-THE YAK vs. 13-SMOCKIN

Smockin Category Advantages: Movies, College Basketball. Celebrity Mashup

The Yak and Smockin face off for the first time since their Live Show battle in New York. That game came down to the final question, and ultimately, the difference maker was the Ask-The-Audience lifeline. Without the audience, the game may even out in Smockin’s favor.

These two teams are nightmare opponents for each other as Yak dominates the Pro Sports categories, whereas Smockin kills them in Pop Culture.

10-BOOZE PONIES vs. 12-MACRODOSING

Another in-season rematch; Macrodosing took down the Booze Ponies in a thrilling OT game earlier in the season. Despite the victory and the superior W/L record, they are ranked lower than the fan-favorite Booze Ponies.

A big difference this time is the Booze Ponies now have Feits, who has been leading their team in scoring since his arrival. If the Booze Ponies, they might have a shot to challenge for the Crown before the season ends, and if Macrodosing wins, they cement themselves a spot in the tournament.

5-FRANK & THE FRANKETTES vs. 15-GEN XYZ

(5) Frank & the Frankettes
- 5-3-0 Record
- 13.38 Points Per Game
- 2.25 Steals Per Game
- 75% Niche Success Rate
-- Nick: 6.54 PPG
-- KB: 6.23 PPG
-- Frank: 4.60 PPG

Frankettes Category Advantages: MLB, NFL, Geography

(15) Gen XYZ
- 3-2-0 Record
- 13.00 Points Per Game
- 1.60 Steals Per Game
- 100% Niche Success Rate
- Large: 5.93 PPG
- Jake: 5.14 PPG
- Vibbs: 4.73 PPG

XYZ Category Advantages: College Basketball, Movies, Music

The Frankettes are currently on their first-ever regular season losing streak and are hoping to keep it from being three in a row. Meanwhile, Gen XYZ watched them fall to #15 in the rankings even though they have been averaging 13.0 points per game and have been a good team all season.

The Dozen is a stacked league right now, as it feels like anyone can win. These two teams have history, as Gen XYZ famously upset the Frankettes in the quarterfinals of the Season 1 tournament.

WEEK 24 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

  • For Week 25, Jack McCarthy wins his Offensive Player of the Week for the first time following an 8.67-point performance to take down Ziti.

  • It was an excellent week for rookies as Blaise’s 3 steals against the Yak earned him Defensive Player of the Week, and Klemmer’s 7-point performance to beat The Experts gets him Rookie of the Week.
