Justin Thomas Is An All-Time Pal For Bogeying Down The Stretch To Allow Tiger Woods To Make His Record-Tying 23rd Straight Cut At The Masters

Phenomenal drama at Augusta National early Saturday morning as Tiger had a few holes to complete while tip-toeing the cut line. His long birdie putt on 15 (despite hitting the flag on his approach) moved him to +1 and gave him a little bit of cushion coming in.

But weather conditions continued to worsen and so did Tiger's game. He bogeyed 17 and 18 coming in and suddenly found himself a stroke outside the cut at +3. However, Sungjae Im and Justin Thomas each were teetering on that line with a couple holes left, and a bogey from either would move the cut back to +3 and let Tiger back in.

Leave it to JT to understand the assignment. Right on cue, snap hook city on 17

JT would scramble to leave himself an 8 footer for par, but he missed it on the amateur side for the bogey that Tiger badly needed. Shucks!

Now as I type this, Sungjae went ahead and also found himself a bogey so JT's efforts were somewhat moot. And what's worse is JT went on to bogey 18 as well, which actually sends him home instead of joining the +3's on the weekend. Good deeds, unrewarded… but we needed a sacrificial lamb this Easter weekend and that proved to be Justin Thomas.

The cut made extends Tiger's streak at The Masters to 23, which ties him for the longest streak in Tournament history.

He'll turn right around and go back out there with Sungjae and Thomas Pieters at 1:06 PM off the 10th tee.

Gonna be a wet and wild Moving Day…. at The Masters.
