Watching Grayson Rodriguez Hug His Dad After His Fantastic MLB Debut Is What It's All About

What a day for Grayson Rodriguez. The Orioles prospect got the call to the bigs last night and made his debut today vs Jacob deGrom and boy did it look shaky at first. Over 30 pitches in the first inning but once he got out of it he settled down. 5 innings of 2 run ball, 4 hits, 1 walk, and 5 Ks. That is a great stat line for a guy who looked like he was gonna get knocked out in the first. He showed great poise and his stuff got MUCH better as the day went on, but by far the coolest part of his debut was him seeing his dad after the game.

A big, emotional hug from Grayson to his dad that automatically should have you tearing up. No, he and the team didn't get the win but he pitched a hell of a 5 innings and went toe-to-toe with deGrom in his debut in front of a ton of friends and family. His dad had actually built a baseball diamond on their property back home and I bet you couldn't imagine how many hours and hours these 2 spent out there dreaming of this day. His dream finally came true and who was there to greet him with a big ole bear hug? Dad. Grayson getting emotional, I bet the dad was emotional, doesn't look like a dry eye in that room. It sucks he didn't get the win but a stellar performance in your debut and giving your dad a hug right after? Man, this is what it's all about. What a great video of a moment neither of these guys will forget. Someone's out here cutting onions on a Wednesday afternoon. Such a cool moment for Grayson and his family.
