Top Pitching Prospect Grayson Rodriguez Is Getting The Call To The Bigs Today And Will Face Off With Jacob deGrom In His MLB Debut

It's official, Grayson Rodriguez has gotten the call to the big leagues and will make his MLB debut today as the Orioles go for the sweep vs Jacob deGrom and the Rangers. Big fucking day.

It was a weird spring for G-Rod as we all expected he'd be handed a rotation spot out of camp, but that didn't happen. Rodriguez struggled with command and walking guys so the Orioles sent him to AAA. Things didn't go great for him in his one and only AAA start this season either, but with the injury to Kyle Bradish they needed a starter for today and Grayson is on regular rest so it made sense. It sucks he was kind of yo-yoed like this to start, but let's forget all that and throw it out the window. He's here now and going for a sweep against deGrom. How cool is it that he gets to debut in his home state only a few hours from his friends and family? Adrenaline should be pumping hardcore.

He's the perfect pitching specimen. He is built like a horse and can touch triple digits while normally sitting 94-95. He has a disgusting changeup that he just learned a few years ago, two good breaking balls that are above average, and a meh slider.

As I said before it was weird how 5 days ago they said he wasn't ready, he was sent down to AAA and now he's back, but it's clear that the injury forced their hand. Either way this is a huge challenge for G-Rod. We don't know if this is another tryout for him or if he's here to stay if he pitches well. Again, this wasn't the plan but you have to throw that plan out the window at times. It's sink or swim for Grayson, we're going to see what he has vs a very good offense and see if he gets nervous with Jacob deGrom taking the mound before him. Would love to see him go 4 or 5 innings and ease his way into it. Whatever his O/U is responsibly taking it though, the guy is a K machine.

Hopefully he doesn't break another glove this time around. Legit throwing HEAT out there. I'm pumped for the kid, how can you not be? Just another top Orioles prospect getting his training wheels off, gas me up baby. We had him on our podcast a few weeks back and he gave us this great quote about what he was expecting for this season and how excited he was.
