It Took Less Than 60 Days For Kyrie To Destroy The Mavs Season As Shams Reports They Are "Seriously Considering" Shutting Down Him And Luka

The Mavericks lost AGAIN last night in in heartbreaking fashion. They have now lost 3 straight, 7 of 8, and are just 8-16 since Kyrie Irving joined the squad. Anyone who has watched NBA basketball the last seven years knew this wouldn't end well, but for Kyrie to demolish the Mavs organization in less than two calendar months is pretty damn impressive even for him.

When Dallas traded for Kyrie on Feb 6th they were sitting in the 5th seed. They have now fallen all the way to the 11 seed, two games out of the play in tournament (OKC has the tie breaker), and seem to be ready to throw in the towel. Shams says the organization is ready to sit Kyrie and Luka for the remaining three games of the year and tank it out.

Matt blogged about the Mavs situation yesterday and this really jumped out at me.

According to SportsCenter facts, Kyrie and Luka have the worst record of any superstar tandem since the ABA-NBA merger who both made the All-Star Game that season (minimum 10 games). They're 4-10 when they've played together. Dallas has lost six of seven overall, with that one win coming against the Lakers by one point on a Maxi Kleber buzzer beater.

Now to be fair, the Mavs have zero depth. And outside of Kyrie and Luka are a pretty atrocious roster. The Knicks own their 1st round pick this year but it's top-10 protected so trying to tank the last few games and keep that pick makes sense.

As Shams points out they will be very active this coming offseason but at this point why would anyone want to come play with Kyrie? He's become the hot chick in her 30s who can't keep a man. Tapestry hanging on the wall, crystals next to her bed, burning sage and bitching about how "men are so toxic" all while never having the self awareness to look in the mirror.

It's you Kyrie. You're the issue. You are ALWAYS the issue. You were in Cleveland. You were in Boston. You were in Brooklyn. You are in Dallas.

God speed to whatever third wheel they bring in to try and help this team next season. History tells us they might make the playoffs but they will definitely hate Kyrie when it's all said and done.
