"We KNEW We Were Going To Be Playing On Monday" - Dan Hurley Entering UConn's Postgame Locker Room Like A Fucking Boss

For as wild and unpredictable as this year's NCAA Tournament has been, Dan Hurley's UConn Huskies have just been steamrolling through everyone. It was no different on Saturday night. Bigger Final Four stage. Similar result. Yet another double-digit victory.

Reags has been a workhorse today as usual and already outlined UConn's dominant run to date in fine detail.

I'm just here to come off the bench, kick in a garbage-time assist and do my best at mop-up duty.

Figured it was worth documenting how much of a badass Dan Hurley is. We all know that quote from January 2020. Unless you don't. In which case here it is.

Talk about calling your shot. How the fuck did this UConn team lose all year? Hard to imagine them being defeated eight separate times. It doesn't make sense. They're too damn good. This is more like one of those dominant Geno Auriemma women's teams. Seriously. A complete and total buzzsaw through the West Region.

If my math, quick count and memory is correct, Miami's high-octane offense missed 14 of its first 15 shots from the field. Talk about setting the tone. Shit, UConn committed 15 turnovers — and still won by 13! They could've played even better. No wonder Hurley wasn't all that enthused. He knew they could've embarrassed the Hurricanes by like 25. But like…72-59 in the Final Four? Not bad.

Do I get some sort of consolation prize for picking Marquette to win it all in my bracket? Shaka Smart's squad was the last to knock off the Huskies in the Big East tournament semifinals. I almost put "Big East tournament final" before going to double-check because I assumed UConn made it that far. Nope. Guess they were merely pacing themselves for March Madness, knowing they had an at-large bid well in hand by that point.

let's keep this unusually short and sweet by my standards. Congrats, Dan Hurley and UConn. They open as 8.5-point favorites against San Diego State. Probably going to kick their ass, too. I just want a good national championship game. With the way the Huskies are rolling, that desire may well go unfulfilled.
