HOOT HOOT - FAU Is In The Elite Eight And We're Officially Declaring Them America's Team

What a team man. I still don't understand why they were a 9 seed. Yes, they are a mid-major. Sure they didn't have a ton of quad 1 wins. But all their metrics showed they were better than a 9 seed. And look what happened. A trip to the Elite Eight. Now, sure, I love this team because of #BracketBuskers and the trip to Ireland, but this team is also just damn fun and good.

But they are officially America's team from saving us from watching Tennessee again. No one wants to watch this dogshit offense. No one wants to watch Plavsic be dirty as hell:

What a dirty ass play. Not shocking since Plavsic is probably the dirtiest player in America. I'm shocked they only gave him a flagrant here to be honest. Shit, Brady Manek got ejected for less last year against Baylor and Plavsic has the reputation. But this isn't just a blog to hate on Tennessee and their 1 total Elite Eight in program history or Rick Barnes choking once again in March. I'll save that for another time.

This is about FAU. This team is young as shit. They have one senior - Michael Forrest. They have a ton of sophomores basically who just know how to play. They couldn't make a shot in the first half. They couldn't stop turning it over. They also didn't care. The second half they kept attacking and finding wide open looks. That was the biggest question in this game. How would FAU handle Tennessee's pressure. Handled it pretty well!

So shout out FAU. Who cares if they beat Memphis on a last second shot, a 16-seed and the epitome of failure in Tennessee basketball? They've beaten who they've played. That's all that matters. Now we get FAU's guards against Markquis Nowell in the Garden for a trip to the Final Four? Hell yes.
