CBB IN 60: FDU's Run Comes To An End, A Bad Day For Blue Bloods, And The Big East Succeeds

Today’s CBB in 60 recap and today’s outfit of the day are sponsored by Express!

The entire Sweet 16 is set! 8 more teams locked up their spots in the second weekend on Sunday, and one of them includes a familiar face: Tom Izzo takes the Michigan State Spartans to the next round after their upset over No. 2 Marquette. It’s the Hall of Famers 15th trip to the Sweet 16 since 1995. Insane.

A couple more blue bloods were eliminated - Kansas State took out Kentucky, and Miami over Indiana. The guards on both winning teams delivered: Markquis Nowell dropped 27 for the Wildcats, and Isaiah Wong also with 27 for The U.

A trifecta of Big East teams punched their tickets in the Sweet 16: UConn looked impressive against Saint Mary’s in the 2nd half, Xavier locked in the entire away against Pitt, & Creighton knocked out Baylor - the Jays draw Princeton in the next round.

We may still have the Tigers, but it’s the end of the road for another Cinderella. Florida Atlantic knocked out Fairleigh Dickinson in Columbus, but what a run for Tobin Anderson and company: the 16 seed EVER to go from the First Four to the Round of 32.

And finally, Gonzaga beats TCU. That sets up a rematch with UCLA.
