Shohei Ohtani Continues To Put On A Show In The World Baseball Classic

The best player on the planet is doing best thing on the planet things again, Shohei Ohtani is again proving why he's the top player in the world. Yesterday he got on the mound and all he did was give up 1 hit over 4 innings and struck out 5. Good start for Japan as they beat China 8-1. Oh, he also went 2/4 with a double, an RBI, and 2 walks. He is the story of the WBC so far, no offense to Lars Nootbar, but the main story is Ohtani.

Shohei followed up Thursday's impressive effort with another great game at the plate going 2/3 with 2 runs, 1 driven in, and 2 walks. Average is now up to .571 with an OBP of .700. Japan went on to embarrass Korea 13-4 and Ohtani had a big role in that embarrassment.

You can tell he's fired up to be there playing in Tokyo, look at those numbers on his fastballs yesterday. The dude is pumped to the gills. Not only is he playing in front of his country, but he's absolutely killing it. I would say that this is a nice stage for guys to announce their presence and show the world what they have but we all know what game Ohtani has.

We rarely see Shohei take on-field batting practice. He just doesn't do it. But when you see what he did before the win over Korea we should be begging him to do this more. Look at where that ball was hit. Look at what he hit. It hit the big screen in dead center. You kidding me? And look at how many people are around the cage and standing on the field watching, Shohei is by far the main attraction in Tokyo.

He also seemingly forgot that there are no substance checks in the WBC. Look how embarrassed he is, such a pure soul.

Thank god we are on this planet at the same time as Ohtani and get to watch this special talent. He's got Japan looking reallllly good right now. Can't wait to see the show he puts on for the next few weeks.
