Wes McCauley Is Cleary Getting Ready For A Huge Playoff Run Here With This Call
There's a lot going on in the NHL right now. The trade deadline has guys flying all over the place from roster to roster. McDavid scored 50 goals before the deadline. There's one of the tightest races we've ever seen to tank for the 1st overall pick in the draft. 3-game suspensions for launching accidental loogies at opponents. There's just a lot going on.
Wes McCauley doesn't want to get lost in the mix. Like every great showman, he doesn't love when he's not the center of attention. He knows he needed to do something big to cut through all the news. And what better way to get everybody talking about you again than by playing the hits?
A classic call from one of the greats. But is Wes McCauley losing some of the juice? Is this the beginning of the end? You probably heard the slip up in there. "5 guys(?) each for ~*F I G H T I N G*~".
Wes McCauley doesn't make that slip up 5 years ago, I'll tell you that much right now. Hopefully that ends up just being a minor setback for a major comeback. Still need a few more years of greatness out of Wes before he can pass the torch to the next generation.
Sidenote: You have to wonder if Wes McCauley noticed all the attention head PLL official Matty Palumb was getting during the PLL Championship Series this past weekend. Might have lit a fire under his ass to get back in the spotlight.
