Who Were the Biggest Winners & Losers in College Baseball This Weekend?

What a weekend of college baseball and it is still only February!  Let's jump right into it to break down who were the biggest winners and losers in the coast to coast action.

Winners:

1) East Carolina

The Pirates came from behind not once but twice in the late innings in sold out games to go 2-0 against top 10 North Carolina in heated in state grudge matches. The Jungle was poppin' off on Friday night in Greenville!

Game 2 of the series moved to Chapel Hill on Sunday and the Pirates purple was everywhere in another sold out environment thanks to the traveling Pirate fans.

East Carolina came up with more late magic.

The Pirates broke into the top 10 at #9 this week. I absolutely have to make a trip to The Jungle soon and to check out the famous Sup Dogs bar in Greenvile.

2) Florida State

The Link Jarrett era is starting off with a bang as the Noles won two out of three on the road in Fort Worth against a strong #8 TCU squad. I hope you fellas took my +7000 FSU futures bet on the Barstool Sportsbook as the Noles are already ranked. The value is going to be gone soon!

The Noles are for real and should be one of the top teams in the ACC. This is no fluke!

3) Illinois

Carl and Chuck Naso had to be very proud alumni as the Illini went on the road and took two of three from Southern Miss at the Pete in Hattiesburg. I fired Illinois (+195) on Sunday on the Barstool Sportsbook and it was an easy 9-4 winner.

This series was insane ESP the Saturday game when a whopping 513 pitches were thrown in one game! Southern Miss won that game 14-13 but ultimately lost the weekend.

That is a huge series win for the Big 10 early in the season goin' down South. The Northern teams are at a big disadvantage having to play on road early in the year to dodge the cold. The Big 10 is putting more resources into baseball too.

Losers:

1) Texas A&M

The Aggies lost two of three at home to Portland and almost got swept before this two run double in the 9th bailed them out.

The Aggies fell in the rankings from #5 to #15. Losing two of three at home to a G5 NEVER looks good but they did avoid a disastrous sweep.

2) Over Bettors in UCLA/Vandy Series

Both of these teams have solid pitching but only 11 total runs in a three game college baseball series is pretty wild. Luckily if you took my picks on the Barstool Sportsbook you had the Unders on both Friday and Saturday! Vandy won 2 out of 3 games in Nashville and the Whistler was out in full force….

3) Oregon

The Ducks got swept at home by UC-Santa Barbara and fell out of the top 25. Getting swept at home is the nut low in college baseball. There is no sugar coating it.
