Kevin Love Is Posting Drake Lyrics To His IG Story Seemingly Aimed At His Former Team That He Could See In The Playoffs. THIS LEAGUE.

Back when LeBron left Cleveland to head to LA and Kyrie was already long gone over a bridge he napalmed on his way out of town, Kevin Love was the lone core member of the 2016 championship team remaining with the Cavs. He and the organization were at a crossroads. They could let Kevin walk and begin a complete rebuild. Then Kevin could sign somewhere else and try to win right away, but he would certainly make less money than he would in Cleveland.
Instead, the Cavs decided to sign Love to a four-year, $120 million contract that allowed them to appease season ticket holders and kick the rebuild can down the road a few years. Surely Kevin would understand the money was a trade off and there would be lean times and growing pains with a young roster. And that his maturity and leadership would be needed to navigate the rough waters ahead.
Lol, not so much.
This was dead in the middle of a stare down between the Cavs and Love over what his future should be. Kevin was pissed about how dog shit the team was and the Cavs wanted to buy him out at a discounted price. Kevin wouldn't budge on said price and the two sides trudged along like a shitty relationship that stays together because neither side can afford an apartment on their own.
All signs pointed to this being one of the worst contracts in recent memory. And then all of a sudden it wasn't.
Last season Love had a renaissance of sorts. He averaged 14 points, 7 rebounds, and shot 39% from 3-point range. More importantly, he bought in to his role coming off the bench and as a leader in the locker room. So much so that he finished second in the sixth man of the year voting. He got out of his feelings and got into the action.

But this season the wheels came off once again. He suffered a thumb injury that effected his shot, scored double digits in just two of the last 11 games he played, and got DNP-CD'd in nine straight games before getting bought out after the trade deadline. The Cavs immediately announced they would retire his number and basically dedicated their social media to a virtual fellatio session for Kevin. Everything seemed good.

It felt like the perfect time for the two sides to part ways. The Cavs got Kevin out before he inevitably brought friction into the young, ascending locker room as he has done so many times before. Kevin got to sign with a team that has a role for him and playoff aspirations. The fans got to celebrate a Kevin as an integral piece of the 2016 championship team they hold so dear to their heart.
But like a spiteful girlfriend who says they have moved on yet watches her ex's IG stories from a burner account every day, Kevin wasn't done. And maybe we should have known from the tweet he posted after the buyout.
"I'll have more to say soon…"
And it seems that "more to say" is Drake lyrics that for some reason have Kevin in his feelings. What's next? Is he going to call and sing "Marvin's Room" on GM Koby Altman's voicemail because they signed Danny Green and are going to give him meaningful minutes?
You just know he wants to see the Cavs in the first round of the playoffs, eliminate them, and then post some corny shit on his story like…

I know this type of stuff is part and parcel with the NBA, but it's so god damn lame I can't help but hate it. Love should have been collecting his $120 Million contract with a ski mask. When he files taxes he should immediately be charged with felonious robbery. He wasn't worth 1/5 of that contract and somehow the Cavs are the bad guys?
Then they bought him out when they didn't have to. They could have let him rot on the bench and be nothing more than injury insurance, but they didn't. They did right by him. And yet he's still burning mixtapes to CDs filled with revenge songs against his ex. Corny behavior indeed.

But as corny as all this is, it does add some spice to a possible, if not probable, first round playoff matchup.
The Cavs have the easiest schedule left in the East and could see the Heat in a 3 vs 6 matchup. Or they could stay at 4, not catch the Sixers, and the Heat could pass the Knicks and Nets for the 5 seed to see the Cavs there too. It feels like this matchup is inevitable and I'm sure the Cavs can't wait.
Heat fans are hyped they got a veteran with championship pedigree on the cheap. He'll help their three point shooting and they keep telling themsleves that he has a few more defensive stops left in him. Just like Game 7 of 2016. But this is seven years later and buddy let me tell you, this aint that…
Good luck to Miami and their pick and roll defense come playoff time. The first time Love enters a game and their opponent rattles off a 16-3 run blitzing Love repeatedly, Heat fans will be wishing they had said "No New Friends" instead of signing old him.
