A University Of Washington Baseball Player Was Ejected From A Game For Doing....Absolutely Nothing?

Thank god the umpires were there to eject University of Washington's Will Simpson due to his disgusting acts while rounding the bases after he lightly tossed his bat. I'm not even sure you can call that a bat flip. It was very tame, no malice intent, just a tiny, tiny bat flip. After he rounds second he uses his arm to underline "Washington" on his jersey while looking into his dugout. He's not screaming, he's not losing his mind, he's just....running around the bases?

Next thing we know Simpson is ejected for "excessive celebration". Where the hell was the excessive part? He barely even celebrated! Simpson legit was ejected for nothing.

Either way, I'm happy the umpires were able to put their stamp on the game. They wanted their spotlight and they got it. Good on them for punishing this student-athlete for hitting a home run. Finally we have some umps with balls who won't let guys have their moment in the sun. Just happy to see that the same douchebag attitude we see from umps in the bigs have found their way to college baseball. I hope Will Simpson walks around the bases the next time he hits a homer, I hope he rides the bat around the bases like a horse. Next time he hits a homer I want him to get his money's worth. Softest ejection I've ever seen.
