Anthony Edwards Made It Clear He'll Never Do The Dunk Contest Because All He Likes Is Dunking On People Instead

Outside of the Skills Challenge, I think it's fair to say this weekend's All Star festivities haven't been all that bad. Given what we all lived through these past few years I suppose the only way to go was up, but up we went. Dame was awesome in the finals of the 3PT competition, Mac McClung saved the Dunk Contest, and even tonight in the All Star Game I've had plenty of fun watching Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combine for 30 first half points.

Yet despite all this, the topic of getting big names into the Dunk Contest still exists. It's almost as if last night didn't happen, but tonight Anthony Edwards was asked (again) if he'd ever do it, even though we already know his answer because he's told us before

Would it be cool if we saw Zion and Ja and Ant in a Dunk contest? I dunno…could they beat Mac McClung??

Because make no mistake, we should be having some sort of King Of The Court: Dunk Contest Edition where someone has to beat McClung in order for him to not be the champ. Think of him as the final boss of the Dunk Contest.

What last night proved is it isnt about the name, it's about the dunk. Lost in all McClung's dominance was the fact that Trey Murphy also did some rather ridiculous things. I doubt half the people watching even knew who both of those guys were and that didn't stop it from being a show because the dunks were that good and the dunker made them all on the first try. That matters.

But Ant? I get why he'll never do one. He says it's because he likes dunking on people instead, and honestly he's pretty good at that already
