The Lead Singer From Everclear, Art Alexakis, May Have Made Love To More Women Than Wilt Chamberlain

So last week, our music podcast, Barstool Backstage (ever heard of it?) got the chance to interview Art Alexakis, the lead singer from one of my favorite bands from my youth, Everclear.

Now clearly my blog title was straight hyperbole. It's called an attention grabber. But it's not a lie. NOBODY, and I mean nobody fucked more chicks than Wilt Chamberlain. BUT, I am confident in saying our buddy Art made love to more of them than Wilt did.

I guess the surprise for me from this interview was actually two things:

1- how fucking good Art looks at the age of 60. (In spite of having been recently diagnosed with MS)

2- how much ass alternative bands got in the 90s.

Between our interview with Nickelback, and now Everclear, it's amazing there was any pussy left over for the rest of us heading into the 2000's. These bands all seemed to be just cleaning up.

Art didn't hold back at all on just how much sex he, and everybody was having, on where the hottest women on the planet are (Hint- not here), and he was naturally fucking hilarious the whole time doing it.

But all sex talk aside, Art really couldn't have been cooler. Our co-host Kenny (AWOL Nation) has been telling us he's "a sweetheart" for months now, and that's the exact word I would use to describe him.

The amount of knowledge and advice this guy dropped on us and our listeners, in just an hour was a lifetime's worth. His personal journey as a musician, and the band's is really incredible. And the thing I loved most about him was his raw honesty. He didn't downplay his success, yet he wasn't cocky or arrogant about it.

We want the clicks obviously so I'm not going to give it away, but when we asked him if he knew he was "in the zone" when he was writing straight fucking knock-out hit after hit for a long period of time, he didn't give some bullshit humble answer, he told us "fucking right he knew".

Speaking of hits, never forget how many Everclear had. We got into them all-

If you grew up in the 90s, I don't care how dandy your relationship was with your father. You know you found a reason to be pissed off at him just so you could blast "Father Of Mine" and sing the lyrics in a fit of teenage rage.

And "Santa Monica"? Don't even get me started. What a 10/10 song. It still knocks today just the same.

I seriously love this man, wish him all the positive vibes in the world in his fight against MS, and am so grateful for his art and the music he's given us.

I said it that afternoon but the fact we got to speak to this guy is still blowing my fucking mind.
