The uNDefeated Blog Will Not Write Itself Because Notre Dame Is Reportedly Being Cheap As FUCK In Their Offensive Coordinator Search

Dearly, beloved...I am annoyed. The powers that be at Notre Dame are trying their absolute best to fuck up a good thing. The program is cool. The program has momentum. The program is about to have a quarterback for the first time since it's current players were in diapers and a school with $20B endowment and a football program that reportedly generates over $100M in revenue each year is suddenly crying poor.

Alligator arms when reaching for NIL money undoubtedly hurt them during this past recruiting cycle as they had 5-star players decommit for greener pastures at Oregon and Alabama.

Alabama wasn't done poaching the Irish and they gave our favorite son the bag which for whatever reason Notre Dame's admin wouldn't match.

Notre Dame entered the OC coaching carousel, Freeman apparently found his man from Utah. Brought him to campus knowing about his $2.8M buyout. Then suddenly...the money for the buyout wasn't available. What in the actual fuck is happening? Notre Dame is acting like they're college football's kid brother playing defensive end for Purdue. ND wouldn't even know that $2.8M was missing from the account. They probably get that just from booking weddings at the Basilica in the summer.

It's like Notre Dame sees the finish line of a National Championship and decided to let the air out of the tires as they make the last turn. It's unbelievable. In this era of being able to flex financial muscle Notre Dame should be able to buy players, coaches, and championships with cold hard cash, but instead they seem content to head back to the Bob Davie/Ty Willingham years where they might as well put a red stripe down the middle of their helmets and pretend that they're Boston College. It's pathetic.

What is Marcus Freeman supposed to think? Clearly the administration isn't supporting him the way he would've hoped. I am sure he will remember this when he still is relatively successful this year and other Power 5 jobs become available and promise him the world. If your goal is to win no matter the cost, then apparently ND isn't the place to be anymore. Maybe Kelly and Rees just saw the writing on the wall and decided to get out while the getting was good. Sad and confusing times right now. Hopefully they come to their senses and pay what a good assistant is worth before they get a reputation.
