Bryce Harper Is A Man Of The People, Walks Around With One Shoe On After Signing His Other For A Fan

You can always judge a man's true character by how he handles adversity. After the Philadelphia Eagles blew a 10-point halftime lead and ended up losing Super Bowl LVII, I feel like the most prevalent response amongst Philly fans was complete and total emotional carnage. A mixture of shock, heartbreak, distraught, and an overwhelming sense of emptiness. Nobody saying a word, just trying to process the devastating loss we just witnessed.

So you wouldn't be able to blame Bryce Harper if he was walking through the airport and simply didn't give a single shit about anybody else in there. You could forgive him if he just blew off a fan trying to get an autograph because these next few days are going to be filled with misery and grief in Philadelphia.

But not only did Bryce Harper stop for this fan who asked for an autograph, but he gave him his shoe once he realized he didn't have anything else to sign. You want to talk about character overcoming adversity? Bryce Harper is the prime example. Man of the people right there through thick and thin. It ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. We'll get through this time as Philly fans. It might just take a few more signed shoes from Bryce to rally those vibes back around.

Pitchers and catchers this week. Big summer on deck at CBP.
