Legend: Chad Henne Grabbed A Beer, Posed For A Picture And Promptly Announced His Retirement After Winning A Super Bowl

This is how you do it. Chad Henne lived a great football life. Dude was AWESOME in high school. Legit the best high school football player I saw in person. Goes to Michigan and turns into a second round pick. Not bad for a quarterback. Then it got great. 15 years in the pros. $38 million mostly as a backup quarterback. A couple Super Bowl rings.

That's how you have a career. I mean shit think about the playoffs this year. He comes in for a big drive against the Jags as Mahomes went out with that injury. That mattered! He started a 2020 playoff win against the Browns. Dude just had the ideal setup. Go be a backup with the Chiefs. Come in and show up when you have to.

I really think being a backup quarterback in the NFL is the best job in the world. No pressure, everyone loves you. You were clearly awesome growing up and were the cock of the walk in college. Then you make millions of dollars just to sit in meetings basically. If you do make an important play you're getting a bigger pay day and people love you even more. If you fuck up everyone just goes 'well that's why he's the backup.'

But this is about the retirement. We joke about how you dream of quitting your job by going in and telling your boss to fuck off or whatever. This is the way to do it. Reach the mountain top, pose for your picture and grab a beer. No doubt in my mind that man is hungover today. Love the fact he just posted it on Instagram like a senior picture too.

Incredible all the way around.
