So Now That The Game Is Over, Are Bono And U2 Behind The UFO Balloons?

So U2 aired this commercial tonight during the 3rd quarter. Ballsy you could say.

What the fuck is “Achtung Baby”?

It’s the seventh album from the band. It was produced by Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno, and was released on November 18, 1991. After criticism of their 1988 release Rattle and Hum, the group shifted their direction to incorporate influences from alternative rock, industrial music, and electronic dance music into their sound. Thematically, Achtung Baby is darker, more introspective, and at times more flippant than their previous work.

I did a little digging and figured out that this is actually a promo for that new MSG/Tao group Sphere venue in Las Vegas.

(Source)- More than seven months after rumors circulated that U2 would perform the first-ever concerts at Las Vegas’ MSG Sphere, the Irish rockers officially announced on Super Bowl Sunday that they will stage shows dedicated to their 1991 LP Achtung Baby to launch the city’s massive new globe-shaped venue.

Bono and company — who have their sorta-new album Songs of Surrender arriving in March — previously teased the worst-kept secret in Sin City prior to the Super Bowl, posting an image of a newborn baby within the newly constructed MSG Sphere on a website not-so-subtly called U2xsphere.com.

The official announcement came Sunday, with a mysterious UFO-themed ad for the ‘U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At The Sphere’ shows this fall.

The Sphere show has been in the works for a long time. We don’t want to let people down, least of all our audience… the truth is we miss them as much as they appear to miss us… our audience was always the fifth member of the band,”

U2 said in a statement. “Bottom line, U2 hasn’t played live since December 2019 and we need to get back on stage and see the faces of our fans again. And what a unique stage they’re building for us out there in the desert… We’re the right band, ACHTUNG BABY the right album, and the Sphere the right venue to take the live experience of music to the next level… That’s what U2’s been trying to do all along with our satellite stages and video installations, most memorably on the ZOO TV Tour, which ended in Tokyo 30 years ago this fall.

The Sphere is more than just a venue, it’s a gallery and U2’s music is going to be all over the walls.

Sphere is pretty insane. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, check this out. It’s sick.

(sidebar - the Sphere shows will mark the band’s first-ever concerts without drummer Larry Mullen Jr., who is sitting out the 2023 dates in order to recuperate from a reported back surgery. Drummer Bram van den Berg will fill in for Mullen at the Sphere concerts.)

Now I know what you’re thinking.

“There’s no way a band and/or entertainment venue staged international war games, sending world governments into frenzies, scrambling fighter jet squadrons, and possibly setting off world war 3 Dante you conspiracy theory weirdo.”

Well, need I remind you that Bono and these motherfuckers are the same people who uploaded their new album (which was terrible), to EVERY SINGLE IPHONE IN THE WORLD back in September 2014.

Remember that shit?

Diabolical doesn’t even begin to describe that move.

So you can’t put something like this past them.

Especially when there are marketing companies involved. Those people are fucking maniacs. Joints like Havas, all they do is sit around all day thinking about how crazy of shit they can do to shock and awe, but not get them in any legal hot water. You get a few of those loons to float an idea like this in Bono’s ear and tell me you can’t see this being what happened?

Hubbs blogged earlier about all the balloons all of a sudden appearing, totally baffling the best pilots on the planet, and ended it with a blurb about how if this is all a marketing ploy centered around Super Bowl, he’d “turn into the joker.”

If Bono is behind this, he (or whoever is) is a terrorist and needs to be treated as such. Sorry but rules are rules.

P.s.- the Photogod Barry Butler dropped this nugget of wisdom which makes this even more plausible…

P.p.s.- what a game huh? Here were my thoughts on the night and being robbed of Eagles -.5.

Rihanna was awesome, don't know why people are hating. I like that she didn’t wear any stupid costumes and there were no over the top special FX.

Fucking pathetic those teams had to play on a playing surface like that tonight. Zero excuse.

That call was outrageous. Jerry Thornton put it perfectly: “Even if it could be called, that’s a real tough time to call such a borderline penalty that decides a whole season.”

I said what I said.

Andy Reid isn’t the best coach of all time, Belichick is, but he’s the best coach in football right now. And it really isn’t even close. What a fucking clinic he put on tonight. Unbelievable
