All The Shit Talking, Crying And Weird Calls Played Out Perfectly, So Now The Chiefs/Bengals Rivalry Can Last For Years Built On Hate

It's honestly a little ridiculous and easy to say, but the NFL figured it out. Have a rivalry built on hate that features probably the two best quarterbacks in the NFL. Because that's what happened last night. The Chiefs/Bengals officially move into full on rivalry that's built on hate.

That's good. That's good for everyone. 

There's always the division rivalries. But the NFL really thrives when you get something like this. Manning vs Brady. 49ers vs Cowboys. All these rivalries that came about and played out in the playoffs. And frankly last night was somehow perfect for it. 

You have all the shit talking. The Burrowhead, Cincinnati's mayor, they were all cocky before the game. Then after the Chiefs did what they should have. Talk that shit right back. You earn the right to shit talk after a win. But at the same time you had Bengals (and still have) Bengals fans screaming the NFL is rigged against them. It's not. Missed calls? For sure. On both sides. But it was a late hit on Mahomes. Even the 3rd down play, there's video of the side ref sprinting in from the back to call the play dead. Weird how that one doesn't get shown. 

But, sure, rigged. Let's run with it because adds to it. The Bengals now have specific plays to be pissed about that can carry over year to year. Whenever these two teams play, those plays will get shown especially here in Cincinnati. But we've now had two AFC title games in a row between them and both were awesome. We're all suckers for this shit, so give us a rivalry where there's at least hate. Players will leave and change teams, but as long as we have the Mahomes vs Burrow, with Kelce, Chase, etc as the guest starts, this can survive on hate for years. 

I have no problem with any of this by the way. We should be encouraging shit talking. We should be encouraging a rivalry to turn into hate like this. Even Bengals fans - as fucking annoying as they are to me - go ahead and scream and complain. It's what makes this stupid sport awesome.
