United States Soccer Federation Officially Has NOBODY In Charge After Ernie Stewart Left For PSV Earlier Today
Out of the group with our first ever "Golden Generation"...then the soap opera commenced and it was curtains for anyone with their fingerprints on the US Men's National Team. The hierarchy is completely empty. No coach, no GM, no sporting director, no...plan? No future? What is going on over there at the USSF?
There were reports earlier in the year that the USMNT head coaching job had been offered around to BIG names like Zidane. Everyone, so far, has turned us down. You would think that the chance to entrench yourself with a promising young group who controlled a game in the World Cup against England would be an attractive job, but as of this moment people are running away from it.
I would love it if US Soccer continued to grow and we use this generation and the coming 2026 World Cup on home soil to sling shot us from a team that is probably 15th or so best in the world into "POT A" with the elite countries. The United States winning the World Cup is kind of the final great American underdog sports story. We need real leadership at the top concerned with building a program and not lining their own pockets while playing political games. Amazing that we have gotten to this point. Maybe the drama and the fact that people care about the drama proves that America is finally becoming a true futboling nation.
PS: USMNT had a game last night. I didn't know any of the names in the starting lineup. Weird times right now.
