Utterly Shocking: An Anonymous Coach Claims Trying To Recruit Bronny James Is A Complete Pain In The Ass

[Source] - “I tried to get involved, but you had to jump through a thousand hoops just to get to the mom,” an ACC coach told On3. “You’re not allowed to talk to the kid. You have to schedule a time on Tuesday or Thursday with the publicist just to talk to the mom.”

I know you're going to be shocked by this. But it's a complete pain in the ass to recruit Bronny James. Why does it matter? He's the second highest rated recruit in the class of 2023 to not be committed to a school. It's not like he sucks, which credit to him. He's a good player. He's a Division I player. But thanks to his dad and everything else it's a massive pain in the ass.

Shit, just look at this comment:

Nepotism at its finest right there. LeBron saying he just needs to pick up the phone. Hey, man. You don't have to do that. Also if LeBron calls you, hang up. It's not worth the hassle. I wouldn't want to push a kid out to create a scholarship space for Bronny James. Not a knock on his game but just the circus that's going to come with it.

Oh and then there's this:

So he reportedly cuts the list to three, but it's still open? At some point you have to make a decision. At some point you have to let schools know what your plan is or they go a different direction. No matter what your dad says. Even coaches are smart enough to know better:

“Looking back on it, we probably should have tried to get involved,” said one SEC coach. “To be honest, I didn’t know how realistic the recruitment would be.

Unrealistic recruiting, having to call a publicist just to try and schedule a meeting with a parent? No thank you. Just send him to Ohio State so we can keep on hating that school.
