John Wall Channeled His Inner Uncle Rico Claiming The 2017 Wizards Would Have "Beat The Shit Out Of Bron" In The Playoffs

There is believing in yourself, being delusional, and then whatever the hell this is. John Wall has never been one to lack confidence so him saying, "We was going to beat the s**t out of Bron...They did not want to see us" isn't the craziest thing in the world. A true shooter's shoot mentality.

But for it to be almost six years later and him still telling this lie to himself is more sad than anything. What a crazy hill to die on...or should I say mountain?

Never mind the fact that it is pretty widely accepted that the Cavs were headed towards back-to-back titles if the Golden State Warriors didn't cry like little bitches and beg for Kevin Durant to save their asses add Kevin Durant to their already loaded roster. A perfect storm of circumstances allowed a team that already had multiple Hall of Fame caliber players to add the most dangerous scorer in the NBA.

Steph's injuries early in his career led to a friendly contract, the salary cap took a massive jump that offseason, and Draymond Green sat in his car and cried on the phone pleading with KD to come help them get revenge on Bron. These are indisputable facts.

Hell, even Zach Lowe brought it up AGAIN this week on The Lowe Post Podcast, saying the Cavs would have definitely won the championship that season had the Warriors not brought in Durant. And even if you don't believe the Cavs would have beaten them twice in a row, every NBA fan outside of San Fran and Cleveland complained before the season even started that we all knew those teams would be in the Finals. It was a foregone conclusion.

Check out the odds for the NBA championship back in January of 2017 according to SBNation

NBA Championship Odds

Golden State Warriors (-130)

Cleveland Cavaliers (+250)

San Antonio Spurs (+850)

Los Angeles Clippers (+1000)

Toronto Raptors (+2800)

Houston Rockets (+2800)

Boston Celtics (+4000)

Chicago Bulls (+6600)

The Warriors and Cavs are -130 and +250, respectively. The next closest team is the Spurs at +850! You know who you don't see on that list? John Wall and the Washington fucking Wizards. They finished as the 4 seed and lost to Boston in the Eastern conference semi-finals and have never stopped telling the world how lucky the Cavs were ever since.

Giphy Images.

Never mind the fact the Cavs were 2-1 against them that season and LeBron averaged 29, 9, and 10 in those games. If you listen to Wall tell it the Wizards had the better roster LOL.

"Me and Kyrie, we matching up. I'm taking Brad (Beal) over JR (Smith). You got Bron over Trevor Ariza, I'm taking you know who. Kevin Love and Markieff Morris, I'm taking Kevin Love but Markieff Morris can shoot threes and post up. And I'm taking (Marcin) Gortat over Tristan Thompson.

So you're comparing a starting lineup that had Trevor Ariza and Marcin Gortat to the best Cavs team out of that run? Well that's just insane but let's just say for a second he is accurate in his assessment. He's still missing one huge point…THE CAVS HAD LEBRON JAMES. The guy averaged 32.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 7.8 assists throughout the playoffs that year and Trevor Ariza and Marcic Gortat were going to derail that train?

It's sad when you break someone's spirit so much that they cannot let the ghosts of the past go. They are haunted on a daily basis by the fantasies they imagine in their heads. The word embarrassing comes to mind. Especially when the other person, or team in this instance, probably doesn't even remember you exist.

Jealousy is a sickness and I seriously hope John Wall gets better soon.
