Nick Foligno Deserves An Answer To This Very Valid Question. Should He "Just Go Pound Travis Konecny's Fucking Face In?"

The Boston Bruins kicked the shit out of the Philadelphia Flyers yesterday. That was to be expected. The Flyers are an awful team that, for some godforsaken reason, decided to win a shit ton of games in the start of January and completely take themselves out of the running for the 1st overall draft pick. They were playing so well in the beginning of the calendar year, in fact, that they duped some dumbass blogger into thinking they were an actual wagon. But clearly they are an entirely overhauled roster, a new ownership group, a different coaching staff, and probably at least 4-5 more years away from being able to compete with a team like the Bruins.

What was also to be expected is that tempers would start to flare a little in the later stages of the game once the Flyers realized the game was completely out of hand.

I have to disagree with the caption on that tweet entirely. I don't think it's necessarily that Nick Foligno didn't "want it" from Travis Konecny. More so the fact that Nick Foligno just didn't want to give it to Travis Konecny. Maybe that's just because he thought the Bruins were about to be on a powerplay and he didn't want to ruin that. But that's besides the point. Instead of dropping the mitts, Foligno seemed like he was just intent on giving him a stern talking to and maybe dabble in a little threatening.

But he brings up a great point to the ref after the fact. Both players got sent off for matching minor penalties. So if both players were going to go off for 2 minutes anyway, what would be the difference in both players going off for 5? If Nick Foligno showing restraint in not fighting Travis Konecny wasn't going to help the Bruins get a powerplay, the least he could do is chuck some knucks and "just go pound his fucking face in". Seems to me that at the very least, he deserves an answer from the refs. Otherwise we are just left to assume the answer is yes. In which case, we should be seeing a lot of faces getting pounded in the rest of this season. Olde time hockey, baby. Eddie Shore. Bring it back.
