BREAKING: The Demise Of Kentucky Basketball And John Calipari Was Once Again Greatly Exaggerated

There it is. There's the team I and every other Kentucky fan have been begging to see all year. Yes, Sahvir Wheeler (and Damion Collins) were hurt. It forced Cal to do what we all knew was the best thing. Play Cason Wallace as your lead guard with the two shooters in Reeves and Fredrick. Guess what happened?

Need a hint?

Fine. Kentucky went in and beat Tennessee.

The perfect slump buster, just the way it should be. Fuck Tennessee forever and always. Fuck Rocky Top. Fuck that color orange. Fuck everything about them. And now Kentucky has life ... again. That's all this team needed. Obviously a long way to go, but there's life.

A week where Cal was rumored to Texas. A week where you lose at home to South Carolina. A week where there's reports that Mitch Barnhart had no relationship with Cal. And Cal delivered. The players delivered. That's the way it works right? If Kentucky loses, Cal sucks. So a win on the road over the No. 2 team on KenPom means Cal's a genius again?

This game was about Antonio Reeves and CJ Fredrick. Those two hit the shots they had to. Oscar let the game come to him and more importantly Kentucky got away from playing through him and rather around him. Livingston was awesome and honestly deserved more minutes. This is the Kentucky lineup we need. Now Cal has to realize it and roll with it going forward.

Sure, I had said a lot of negative things about the team over the last 2 weeks, because it was true. There were simple mistakes and errors from Cal to the players. That didn't happen today - mostly. They showed they have heart. Cal showed a willingness to adapt and trust the lineup that is good. He pushed the buttons he had to today. Reeves/Fredrick hit the shots they had to.

Life is there. Hope is there. Now turn the season around.

Fuck Tennessee.
