Uh Oh....The Dallas Zoo Has Been Closed All Day Because One Of Their Clouded Leopards Escaped

Is there anything scarier than being a zookeeper and getting to work and realizing one of your Clouded Leopard's isn't in its enclosure? UH OH. That is what happened this morning at the Dallas Zoo. Once they realized the clouded leopard wasn't in its home they called for a code blue which means it is a "non-dangerous animal". Kind of wild because this thing technically is part of the leopard family. In the wild they get to be about 3 feet long and can weigh up to 50 pounds, that isn't too big but still big enough to scare the shit out of you if you're walking your dog in Dallas near the zoo. They said it escaped out of a tear in the mesh siding of the cage, she saw freedom and took off. 

Nova is the name of the clouded leopard that escaped and it's said she's only about 25 pounds. Now they said they straight up don't know where this thing is but they think it is on the zoo grounds still. Thing could be anywhere. But don't worry, Dallas PD are hot on the case.

These police aren't going to find Nova, that girl is tucked away somewhere in some nice brush. These guys are just sitting there getting some sort of hazard pay while driving around! Easiest shift in the world for these guys. But I'm still just cracking up at the zoo tweeting that a clouded leopard has escaped, an animal that people usually aren't familiar with….and then saying "it's non-dangerous". Because again, once someone hears "leopard" they think "dangerous". 

So be on the lookout if you're in Dallas, head on a swivel. Maybe we need Big Cat and Dave back on the manhunt train to capture this thing. Now I'll be glued to the Dallas police scanner waiting to hear if they capture this thing.
