The Oakland A's Are Zeroing In On Building A New $1 Billion Domed Stadium On The Vegas Strip Where The Tropicana Currently Sits

The Tropicana is a Vegas landmark. One of those old school Vegas casinos that at one point was the belle of the ball. Shit, the entire god damn street is named Tropicana Avenue. But it's also, well to put it nicely, completely irrelevant. Vegas has passed the Trop by, and it's an after-thought at this point. It's a great piece of real estate, and a baseball stadium right there would be fucking AWESOME.

I mean it's right smack dab in the thick of it. A baseball stadium to walk to while drunk as hell in Vegas? Sign me the fuckkkkkkkkkkk up!!!

RJ - Talks between the Oakland Athletics and those involved in one key Las Vegas stadium site have stalled, while talks on the other remain ongoing.

Further discussions between casino magnate Phil Ruffin and A’s brass about the Las Vegas Festival Grounds site have gone quiet, according to his spokesperson.

That leaves the land where the Tropicana sits as still in play. The A’s and Bally’s Corporation have been in negotiations for more than a year regarding the building of a $1 billion domed ballpark there.

If the Tropicana site comes to fruition, it would create a sports facility mecca of sorts. The A’s stadium would be located within walking distance of Allegiant Stadium, T-Mobile Arena, the MGM Grand Garden arena and Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay.

I can't believe it took us this long to get professional teams in Vegas. First the Golden Knights which is an incredible hockey watching experience, now the Raiders which I haven't attended yet but everyone says Allegiant Stadium is incredible, and the A's should be making the move sooner than later.

But the best part is since it's baseball, and in a dome, it'll be easily the best destination for watching your team on the road. Sure you can get the history at Fenway or Wrigley, but a day game in Vegas? Holy moly, kid. It's such a no-brainer.

And it goes without saying but the name is already there. No offense to the WNBA team that already has the name, but changing the Oakland A's to the Las Vegas Aces…ohhh baby I'm turned on just thinking about it.

Oh shit, what a segue! Ready? Speaking of Aces…a new episode of Cracking Aces is out today. A very good episode with special guest Michael Rocco, who has over $3.5 million in tournament winnings. He's gone from rich to busto and everywhere in between, and was a great guest. Appreciate all who listen!
