Awesome Moment From Kevin Hayes Talking About The Importance Of Making The All Star Team This Year

If you were unfamiliar with Kevin Hayes, he's an awesome NHL player and a major supporter of Barstool.

He's done pizza reviews

Played in The Sandbagger with The Chiclets guys

Even did The Unboxing

And attended the Barstool Invitational

I've had the pleasure of meeting him and hanging out with him, he's the most down to earth guy in the world, and extremely funny. All time good guy.

Tragically in 2021, Kevin lost his brother Jimmy who was also an NHL player. As you can imagine they were best friends, and extremely close. When Kevin spoke at the funeral he gave a beautiful tribute to his brother, and spoke about how much he loved him. It made anyone realize they should cherish every moment they have with their loved ones and to appreciate their time together.

Kevin also wrote a beautiful tribute to his brother on Instagram

In the years since losing his brother, Kevin has always kept the memory of his brother alive, including launching the 11 Fund. The foundation will donate to underprivileged children at Saint John Paul School in Dorchester, MA where the Hayes boys both attended.

Pointing to the sky on his first goal of the season after Jimmy's passing

But the one that always chokes me up  was when he booked the Boston Bruins National Anthem singer for his nephew's mini sticks hockey game.

Beautiful stuff.

Kevin has been in the NHL for 9 seasons, and this will be his first NHL All Star game, which is a nice story for nearly anyone who's been around the league that long and finally gets an accolade like an All Star Game appearance. It's when you hear him talk about how much more meaningful it is to honor his brother, and have his family get to celebrate that is when it really does pull on your heart strings.

Call your family tell them you love them,  enjoy every moment.

Some Things Are Bigger Than Sports.

Congrats Kev. Go win MVP.
