It is hard to believe any team can turn around this much in just one year! Tulane literally pulled off the unthinkable on Monday to complete one of the greatest turnarounds in college football history.
Trailing by 15 with 5 minutes left to high powered USC & Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams, the Green Wave rolled back with a TD run by all world RB Tyjae Spears, a safety & finally a TD pass by QB Michael Pratt in the final seconds to win the Cotton Bowl.
This was their biggest bowl win since 1939 after Tulane completed a turnaround after going 2-10 in 2021 to 10-2 & AAC Champions in 2022 getting revenge on Central Florida!
The only other time Tulane was near this hot in my lifetime was the undefeated 1998 led by coach Tommy Bowden & QB Shaun King. Every single Tulane fan & alumni I know to a man was in Dallas for the game. Considering it is a private school, I was blown away by the fan support.
I watched the game at Cooter Brown’s in uptown New Orleans near campus & it was poppin’ off too!
To top it all off, Tulane was able to keep Head Coach Willie Fritz from going to Georgia Tech in the Power 5.
And they even went 12-2 against the spread! Best in the nation…
The decision to build an on campus stadium has paid off in spades! There’s NEVER been a better time for Tulane fans & NOLA is lovin’ it!
