Malik Rose Is Bouncing From Sixers Broadcast Booth For Atlanta Hawks Front Office Gig

Philly – MALIK ROSE, a former standout at Drexel who has been the TV analyst for Sixers games since 2011, is leaving the organization to join the front office of the Atlanta Hawks, according to a report. Chris Vivlamore, the Hawks’ beat writer for the Atlanta Journal Constitution, tweeted last night, “The Hawks have hired Malik Rose to a front-office position.” On the website, he wrote that Rose was expected to work in the basketball operations department and that a person familiar with the hire said the Hawks are “very excited.”

Dammit. This isn’t good news, but I guess everyone saw the writing on the wall. Malik was BY FAR the best sidekick to Zumoff since Steve “The Mayor” Mix (why they get rid of him again?). Between Eric Snow taking a nap on air and whoever else they got to half-ass in recent years, Rose was beyond refreshing in the booth. Not to mention he’s a Philly guy who is a legend at Drexel and succeeded for over a decade in the NBA after being a 2nd round pick. Just a damn shame Malik was here during the Tankadelphia times and we don’t get to enjoy him when the Sixers actually matter (by 2020, I pray).

You can’t make up or replace this kind of gold.
