Whoops! Indiana Blasts A 'Congrats National Champs' Sign Right As IU Soccer Lose The NCAA Championship Match In PKs

So last night was the title game between Syracuse and Indiana. Great. Actually it was an awesome match. Syracuse ends up winning in PKs as our beloved Jake Marsh excitedly tweeted above. But that's just the background for this blog. See, Indiana decided to jump the gun. This is what they flashed on campus at a watch party: 

You gotta be extra careful putting up something like that. We're talking about declaring a national championship. I know people will scream it's soccer, but Indiana actually cares about it. They are even better at soccer than basketball, even if they lose in crushing fashion

Yikes. I don't know how this happens. You're literally watching the match. You can't have some sort of automated system to put on. Not for a national championship game. It never works out. You can't have clear diehard fans who are showing up to Assembly Hall to watch the match on a big screen walk away with that. Then again, you're Indiana. This is what they've come to be. Celebrate regular seasons.
