The Buccaneers Get Sunk In The Bay

The Bucs got absolutely demolished in San Francisco today 35-7. They were very shorthanded missing both starting Safeties and one of their starting CBs. Their best run stuffer Vita Vea also got injured on the first series. On the Offensive Line, they had one starter today from last year's team.

But this isn't about excuses. The 49ers and Brock Purdy kicked our ass. It wasn't particularly close. It started with a TD on the first drive. The Bucs appeared to answer on their next series, but it was negated for a holding call.

It started to pile up with the refs as the Bucs didn't get a call they expected on 3rd & 1.

The next pass fell incomplete resulting in a turnover on downs.

Then after a big INT before half, another flag hurt the Bucs, this time calling back a splash play.

With a 28-0 lead at the half, the 49ers really just took the air out of the football in the 2nd half and held onto the lead. But the bigger issue was the Bucs just looked out of sync the entire game, which has been a theme all season. Tom Brady and Mike Evans were seen getting heated on the sidelines. Things are not good.

My analysis is that Brady doesn't fully trust his Offensive Line. Again, it's four new guys from last year today and he's 45 years old. Hits hurt more now than they used to. This offense is a deep ball, down the field offense. With a QB that doesn't fully trust his O-Line, Brady is checking the ball down more often and much sooner than the offense calls for. But are the Bucs going broke taking a profit? They just seem to have minor errors that pop up continually and this is an offense that NEEDS to stay on schedule because they can't overcome getting behind the sticks. But that's just my two cents.

This was a bad loss, but we're on to Cincinnati, who just so happens to be next week's opponent.
